Halloween Decor | Sideboard Inspo

05 September 2024

'Tis the spoOoOoky season! We're full on doing Halloween already in our home and I couldn't be more excited. This is the first year Daniel actually understands what Halloween is, so it really feels like a mama milestone to get here and do special things for him to enhance the experience. Pre-babies, I'd put a pumpkin out for fun, but it was never really a thing, so I'm more than happy now to dig into my creative genes to whip up some holiday fun!

First on our decorating list is our kitchen sideboard. It's pretty small, so really easy to grab just a few things to spruce it up. The thing about holiday decor is it can run you up a penny if you go rogue, which I totally support lol, but to avoid that I gave myself a $50 budget and challenged myself to buy things I wouldn't toss at the end of the season (ie styrofoam pumpkins, spiderwebs, etc) Anyway, obviously TJ Maxx and Amazon were my besties for this. Here is a list of everything I bought!

1. Bats, Amazon: There are several options depending on how many bats you need. This package cost $6 and was more than enough! Perfect to save for next season.

2. Black Artificial Eucalyptus Stems, Amazon: This was a steal at only $10 for 18 stems. Not only do you get a decent amount, they actually look stunning in real life!

3. Disco Pumpkin, TJ Maxx: This cost $20 and I was floored when I saw the tag. I definitely thought it'd cost more! It's so beautiful in person and will definitely wrap this baby up tight to last for years to come.

4. Skeleton, TJ Maxx: Another awesome addition that cost me $10. I'm not usually a skeleton person, but this one just fit right in and looks great! Also love that it's a piece that can live on unlike a candle (that I almost bought) that would burn and then have no purpose. The challenge was to spend on intentional pieces - but wow that candle did smell really nice ugh!

Voila, there's our Halloween sideboard! My final spending amount was just under $50 and beyond being proud that I was actually able to meet it, I'm excited to have decor pieces to look forward to next year too. The spooky magic has just begun, we're off to Daniel's bedroom shelves next so stay tuned!

xo,

Melissa Victoria
