Hi friends! Seems like October flew by and now we're just about ready to start the next two months full of holiday fun.  I feel like I've been counting down to the holiday season since summer, and now that it's here, I'm not sure how ready I am!  I've been so busy with work and keeping up with my relationships that along the way, I basically realized I'm living in dresses these days haha.  Seriously though.  My brain is just not working fast enough to put a top and bottom together.  Not mad at this though because I've been able to wear my favorite little pieces, like this dress from The Mint Julep Boutique.  Cold shoulder sleeves have been a trend worth eyeing forever now, so when I saw this dress on their website, I just couldn't pass it up.  The colors are perfect for the season, but the cut out detail still keeps me nice and cool.  Anyway, I can't wait to show you tons of other holiday looks in the next two months!  You just have to keep coming back to stay tuned.  Chat with you all later!

Closet Staples: Striped Pencil Skirt + Basic Tee

There's a running joke in my office where on Friday's, all the girls wear their best green and stripes.  It's 100% true and I'm really not sure if it's just because the combination throws off a 'fashionably lazy day' vibe or something, but I'm into it!  It could just be that stripes and something green may actually sit in everyones closet, therefore making it easy to combine which rests to be true in my opinion.  When I received this striped skirt, I knew right away that a simple green top was going to complete it.  I tossed over a jean jacket, some nude heels and off I went to conquer my day.  I would definitely say this is a more casual dressy outfit, but the best part is it was composed with everyday basics.  I'm not sure how many times I've mentioned my love for closet staples, but I will forever vouch for something striped, a plethora of basic tee's and at least one pencil skirt!  Anyway, this skirt is linked above and is actually on sale for $12 - hurry it's so cute & such a steal.  It is a little thin so you might have to wear a slip under, but I'm not complaining, I usually wear a slip or shorts under anything white.  Also, I love getting t-shirts at Target, so the link above will actually take you directly to their t-shirt's page where you can shop their entire collection of colors.  Anyway, I might be busy this week with OCFW but I have a ton of content to post here & on social!  If I don't make it back this Thursday, catch me on my Insta!

You guys, I'm stuck in limbo over here! We're half way into November and it's literally 80 degrees out.  A few years ago, I worked for a small company that operated out of both California and Virginia.  I'd often call the Virginia receptionist and talk all about the weather because I was so fascinated with how cold it was out there and how hot it was here.  While she talked about her 50 degree weather, I kind of felt horrible telling her I spent the first few hours of Thanksgiving at the beach *insert palm to face here*.  Still, I enjoyed conversing with her and painting an image of what fall looked like somewhere else and all I'd wear if I lived in a place like Virginia.  That's the thing about fall in Orange County though!  Because our weather is so warm 75% of the year, we lose out on pretty coats but we do gain the creativity of establishing our own kind of fall style.  Who's to say we can't wear felt hats when it's 80 degrees out!?  It's fall!  I like to say my fall style is all about transitional items and making the basics work.  If you can look like fall without causing yourself heat exhaustion - do it. Check out my fall look below for a little more inspiration and don't forget to shop my look above in the links.  Talk to you guys soon!

Royal Blue Dress | Banana Republic

Dress: Banana Republic (Shop the exact dress here + similar style here) // Jacket: Nordstrom (Shop here + similar here) // Bag: Kate Spade (Shop here) // Shoes: Diane von Furstenberg (Shop similar here + splurge here)

With the warmer seasons behind us, does color seem like something of the past?  It's like an unwritten rule or something where maybe florals and bright colors might not be fashionably accepted- who comes up with these things!?  I do have to say that although my favorite color is black, I do naturally gravitate towards every bright color in front of me.  When I received my latest collaboration package from Banana Republic, I freaked out when I saw this royal blue dress.  I immediately thought nude shoes would be the best way to style this dress, but then I thought about how cute it would be to make it look a little edgy!  I had just purchased a new leather jacket from Nordstrom that I was dying to wear, so on top of this dress it went.  If there is a way to combine seasonal wear with off-season colors, I'm all about it.  You guys know I love transitional clothing so you can definitely bet this dress is going to come back out on the first day of spring!  Anyway, don't forget you can shop my look by clicking on the links above in the details.  See you guys later!

Fall Accessories

Hey hey!  I've been thinking a lot about brand new fall accessories and the only things I can think of are hats, beanies and turbans!  I'm super weird with headwear because I have a huge heart for them, I buy them, I end up wearing them but always take them off within a half an hour haha.  For example, I love headbands, but I feel like my head might be way too sensitive because anything wrapped around my head causes major headaches. I know, it's so annoying *rolling eyes*.  Thankfully, designers from heaven created other fun pieces to wear around my head like wide brim hats and stretchy knitwear.  Because I'm craving something new, I put together my list of super cute items I'm coveting at the moment.  If you're interested in any of the accessories, you can go ahead and shop them by clicking on their images just under the collage.  I'll talk to you guys super soon!

Fall 2014 Must Haves

30 August 2014

It's almost September which means the Fall season is just around the corner.  Although it doesn't get too cold here in Southern California, we like to pretend 65 degree weather is unbearably freezing.  Hey, just let us look ridiculous in our fashion scarves and fur okay?  In the season where we ditch our sandals for boots, it's only proper to stick to Fall's dress code and pick up on all Fall essentials.  Here's a list I've come up with, are you ready for the cuddle season?
