Summer of Culottes

Annnddd I’m officially the worst at keeping up-many apologies guys.  But at least I’m back with my favorite, a style post and good news!  I recently discovered an LA based online shop that caters to designer coveters at extremely inexpensive prices.  LeJolie sells designer pieces at up to 70% off original retail prices, approves shoppers for $1,000.00 usable towards LeJolie purchases and offers affordable payment plans.  This online shop is fully equipped with clothes for the entire family to enjoy, including vintage finds and home décor.  My first LeJolie purchase? A pair of pinstripe culottes-obviously!

Kay, I’m not even lying when I say I’ve been dying for a pair of culottes since Monica Rose released her Lovers and Friends collection last year.  A whole year of wishing for a pair of culottes felt like way longer until I recently purchased a pair of floral ones and now these pinstriped ones!  So excited to wear these all summer and pair them up in both casual and dressy settings.  This particular pair was screaming at the crop top section in my closet because of the high waist detail-and let’s face it, I’m too chicken to wear crop tops any other way, so this was the perfect opportunity.  Oh and my shoes?  Diane Von Furstenberg pumps FABULOUSLY found in the clearance section of Saks Off 5th, ultra score!

Shop my outfit and similar items and don’t forget to visit LeJolie!

Top: Forever 21 (shop similar here , here +here) // Acid Washed Skirt (sold out, but shop similar here , here + here) // Combat Boots (shop here, here + here) // Lipstick: MAC, Girl About Town

This week felt pretty long but I'm super excited it's over!  Two days off from the office is very much what I needed since Monday ;) In today's style post, I bring you my newest addition to the crop top collection sitting in my closet.  This floral crop was bought from Forever 21 and if you hurry, you can still catch your own-they have several to choose from.  Coincidentally, the same day I purchased this top, I also came across this acid washed zip up pencil skirt that I've been looking for, for about three years now.  I've been on a hunt for a fun acid washed skirt so I'm super stoked I finally found one worth wearing.  All combined with a pair of combat boots, tossed up hair and hot pink lips, I'd say my outfit was complete.  How do you style your favorite floral top?

I've reached my 24th year of life, and I'm super excited to live it day by day.  A few things I have on my list of things to accomplish include:
  • Go on a long vacation
  • Get into Graduate school
  • Pay more attention to the things I love-including my blog
  • Make time for different groups of people in my life and see them more often every week
  • Read books!...and more magazines
  • Discover new music
  • Work on my health
  • Learn to cook like Laura Vitale (seriously, check out her cooking channel on Youtube!)
Overall, my birthday celebrations went great and fortunately, I was able to celebrate my actual birthday alongside my dad for Father's day.  Anyways, below is my birthday look, wish me luck accomplishing my list of things to do.

Trending Necklaces

Spring is in full effect and by now you might be noticing a few pieces missing from your wardrobe.  My advice would be to recycle as much as you can from the Fall/Winter seasons, and focus more on my favorite-accessories.  A simple piece can add so much life to an outfit, you don't even have to over do your choices or pack on your whole jewelry drawer.  My favorite accessories are necklaces and this Spring/Summer, I definitely want to add more to my collection.  You don't necessarily need one in every color, instead try more universal tones or colors that better match your wardrobe.  I wear a lot of black and white/neutral colors so bright necklaces work very well with my womp womp outfit tones-ha!  Check out the compilation of necklaces I'm really vibing below, happy Spring accessories shopping!

ShoeDazzle and gx by Gwen Stefani

19 April 2014

Well hello shoe collectors!  I'm sure this is old news to you all, but if you really had no idea, Gwen Stefani has launched her shoe collection with online fashion subscription, ShoeDazzle.  In case you're not familiar with ShoeDazzle, I'll run down how it works real quick.

Every month, ShoeDazzle puts out limited time only shoe collections that get replaced with the next months collection and so on and so fourth.  Users basically sign up for a monthly subscription that costs $39.95 and that covers shoes you want to purchase and shipping fees.  So for example, if I signed up and really wanted two pairs of shoes that totaled out to $39.95, I wouldn't pay a dime because my subscription fee already covered it.  If I choose to not purchase any shoes next month, I simply select the 'not buying this month' button and I'm not charged the monthly fee.  Users can keep skipping months for as long as they want and buy whenever they want. Should you forget to let ShoeDazzle know you're not purchasing any shoes that month, no worries, the credit rolls over for next time. Also, first time users get an awesome chance at 50% off your first pair so that's just another awesome perk.

The latest ShoeDazzle collection that I'm googoo gaga eyed over is gx by Gwen Stefani.  The entire line screams Gwen Stefani's rocker chic style, not to mention the prices are really affordable in comparison to her fashion line, L.A.M.B.  The collection features an array of stiletto heels all designed to be worn throughout the day, with any outfit combination.  Check out images of this new line below or simply click here to jump straight to shopping!

Can you guys guess which ones I ordered?...xo Brocade Closet
